LDF Entertainment Hub – Diary January 2012
Happy New Year! Welcome back to our regular round-up of all the goings-on at Lower Drayton Farm. While we’ve had a break from running activities on the farm for the last few months, things have been far from quiet and we’ve been busy planning a bigger and even better attraction for 2012... A special festive visitor? One of the most exciting things to happen at the farm over the festive period came in the form of a visitor who stayed in our popular self-catering cottage. A mysterious gentleman spent several nights in the cottage, bringing with him several reindeer! We’re not jumping to any conclusions, but could it be that Santa himself enjoyed our hospitality in the run-up to his busiest evening of the year? We’re hoping he and his furry friends will return next year to meet young visitors during the big Christmas event we’re planning to run throughout November and December – so watch this space! Christmas prezzies and fresh startsThe farm’s big Christmas present this year was a brand new combine harvester which will really come into its own during harvest next autumn and make this momentous task that little bit easier. On the subject of harvest, there’s a very interesting opportunity on the farm for those hoping to enjoy the fresh flavour of home-grown food throughout the year. We have several allotments looking to be ‘adopted’ by dedicated, green-fingered individuals (or families!) – so perhaps 2012 could be the year your family make a fresh start, enjoy the great outdoors and reap the benefits (not to mention savings) of ‘growing your own’. A taste of things to come...Big things are set to happen this year at the LDF Entertainment Hub, with further year-round attractions under development, all aimed at giving families with young children a place where they can enjoy the countryside and have bags of fun. In addition to being open during school holiday times, the attraction will host special ‘seasonal events’ at Easter and Christmas to name just a few. This will be in addition to our popular summer ‘Maize Maze’ and our fabulous Halloween Spooktacular. We’ll be providing more information on developments and events soon on this website, so make sure you visit regularly to find out more! Previous Farm Diaries
